That is there is 9dB difference as an example for the BER to reach 10-02.What is the difference between ASK PSK FSK?Īmplitude-shift keying (ASK), frequency-shift keying (FSK), and phase-shift keying (PSK) are digital modulation schemes. With AWGN, the BER performance reaches 10-02 at 4dB, but with Rayleigh it takes 13dB to reach the same value. The result also shows that the BER response with Eb/No over Rayleigh channel is also the same but with slow response compared with AWGN. The result shows a good agreement between the simulated and theoretical plots for BPSK modulation that there is no difference between the BER performance of BPSK over Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel and the theoretical Energy per Bit to Noise Power (Eb/No) this is due to the 180o phase shift between the two bits (symbols). This simulation is used to determine the bit error rate (BER) which is the number of bit errors divided by the total number of transmitted bits over a channel. The first one is when the transmitting signal affected by AWGN channel, the second one is when the channel is Rayleigh flat fading, and the last one is when the BPSK simulated over Rician fading channel. This paper derives a brief comparison using MATLAB simulation between the response of BPSK over different type of channels. And to identify which modulation scheme gives best BER performance. It is observed that the BER is minimum for AWGN. By implementing the different modulation techniques, the criterion is comparison of the variation of BER for different SNR. Additive White Noise Gaussian (AWGN), multipath Rayleigh fading and Rician fading are considered in the channel.

The performances of these modulation techniques are evaluated when the system is subjected to a number of users as well as noise and interference in the channel. We will go for analysis of Quadrature phase shift key and 16-ary Quadrature Amplitude modulations which are being used in wideband code division multiple access system, so that the system can go for more suitable modulation technique to suit the channel quality, thus we can deliver the optimum and efficient data rate to mobile terminal. We will use MatLab 7.4 for simulation and evaluation of BER and SNR for W-CDMA system models. We can analysis the performance of these modulation techniques when the system is subjected to AWGN and multipath Rayleigh fading are consider in the channel.

The transmission from base station to mobile or downlink transmission using M-ary Quadrature Amplitude modulation (QAM) and Quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) modulation scheme are consider in W-CDMA system. In this paper, a comparative exploration of BER performance of ASK, FSK and PSK for channel utilization is proposed and the investigation are carried out with SNR over AWGN channel as the reference factor. Cosine signal has been used as a carrier wave. In this paper, we have implemented ASK, FSK and PSK using MATLAB. It directly affects the probability of error performance of a system. SNR is well known measure of how the signal and noise power compare against each other. BER is a key parameter that used for assessing systems that transmit signal data from one location to another. Binary modulation methods use two level symbols and are facile to implement, provide good error substantiation. The selection of a digital modulation technique for a specific application depend not only the bandwidth efficiency and implementation complexity but also error rate occurred in a bit (BER) and signal to noise ratio. These modulation schemes can be characterized by their transmitted symbols which consist of a discrete set of values occurring at gradually spaced intervals.
